Three Minute Thesis 2014

Carnegie Mellon University held the championship round of its inaugural Three Minute Thesis competition on February 18, 2014. Eleven Ph.D. students presented a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance in just three minutes, in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Four won the day: Suchitra Ramachandran (Biological Sciences, MCS) and Arun Shrivats (Biomedical Engineering, CIT) tied for the People's Choice award, by audience vote. Patrick Foley (Statistics, DC) placed 3rd, Suchitra Ramachandran 2nd, and David Rollinson (Robotics Institute, SCS) took 1st place.
