Here’s a little window into my colorful, crazy life!
Step into the weird and wonderful world of gay artist Paul Richmond, where anything could go down -- even a pin-up boy's pants! We're all a little high on paint fumes around here, so grab a brush and join the painting party!
Come on into my studio and take a peek over my shoulder. Whether it's an expressive, figurative painting in oil on canvas or a digital illustration in Photoshop for a book cover, this is what I'm working on right now!
The Cheesecake series grew out of my fascination with pin-up art from the 40’s and 50’s. I’m interested in exploring how gender roles were reinforced by these artistic expressions of sexuality. It intrigues me that it was considered sexy for a woman’s skirt to be ripped off before a crowd of oglers, while the male pin-up was only exposed when he wanted to be. Times certainly have changed! Men may have had a free pass on wardrobe malfunctions in the good old days, but my Cheesecake Boys are here to even the score.
