The Northern Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT) started in a basement room at Cambrian College in 1995, but has since expanded in physical size – to a multi-million-dollar facility – and scope over its 20-year history.
The NORCAT Up-Start! Competition is a business pitch competition open to participants in the Entrepreneurship 101 lecture series. Individuals, or teams of individuals, must give a ten-minute presentation on an idea for their business.
The business must be one that they wish to implement or have already started. Entrants are expected to apply the concepts that they have learned from the course to their business idea and to make a compelling case that this will lead to a very successful business.
A prize of $5,000 will be awarded for the top business pitch presentation.
Starting a business and putting your ideas into action is never an easy task. Many factors contribute to the success of your business including access to the right mentors, customers, and very often start-up capital. With that, the NORCAT Innovation Mill is pleased to announce the launch of PITCH 2016!
The NORCAT Hot Topics series engages leading thinkers from around the world to share their insights with our entrepreneurial and innovation community on topics that are relevant now and in the future. To view previous presentations, please visit http://www.norcat.org/hot-topics
