  • My 10 Favorite Guitar Riffs Of All Time Play all

My current (2/16/17) 10 favorite guitar riffs of all time. (in no particular order)
Basically I love riff which is simple, catchy, and significant. Memorable melody, unique rhythm, bold idea.

    1. Aerosmith - Back In The Saddle
Evil, heavy yet Bluesy and catchy. Like it's even insane. Playing in unison with Bass is the key also.

    2. Led Zeppelin - Heartbreaker
I love Out On The Tiles, Bring It On Home, and many more, but this is my first love of Zep's riff.

    3. Black Sabbath - Iron Man
I know this one's like on every single Top 10 riffs lists. Still though, too good not to pick.

    4. Jeff Beck Group - Rice Pudding
Just a riff. I honestly don't like everything else of the song, but the riff is absolutely amazing.

    5. Muse - New Born
Heavy distored guitar coming out ripping the beautiful intro. Plug In Baby is great too but this one's more like it to me.

    6. The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Jack White proves still great riffs can be invented in the 21st century. Those single notes moves are golden.

    7. Captain Beyond - Mesmerization Eclipse
I usually don't like irregular meters much but this. Four fourth chords, love the simplicity.

    8. Queens Of The Stone Age - My God Is The Sun
Playing Em chord like arpeggio. Nothing can be this easy and difficult. Genius. Sick. Sick Sick Sick.

    9. Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well
Great single notes riff. Always reminds me pentatonic is enough notes to make a great riff. (Although the riff includes 2nd)

    10. T.Rex - 20th Century Boy
The most difficult riff ever. Seriously. You could play Yngwie when you practice hard, but you could never play this riff right.
