As the New Year begins, many people are starting their first bullet journal. In this short video I'll show you how to set up your bullet journal and avoid many of the mistakes people make.
Need more help getting started with daily themes? I'll send you 31 daily journal prompts to boost creativity, mindfulness, gratitude, and more!https://dailyjournal.carrd.co
The main thing to keep in mind is to keep your first bullet journal simple. Follow the original bullet journal method of rapid logging, using signifiers, and keeping a future/monthly log. Just these simple steps will help you stay on track.
Another habit trick I use is to hook up the practice of bullet journal reviews to an existing habit, like brushing my teeth. After brushing at night, I'll spend 5-10 minutes going over the day and noting my top tasks for tomorrow. Then I place the bullet journal on my desk, open to the day, so it's the first thing I see when I start work.
I hope this video helps get you started with setting up your first bullet journal. It's a great practice and one that can help you focus on the tasks and projects that matter most.
Shout out to Jon Acuff and Koka Sexton for asking good questions about starting a bullet journal for the first time. This video is inspired by their questions and many others over the past few weeks.
