■ ITALY, BAGNOREGIO: As I drove from Genoa in the direction of Rome I stumbled across what I believe is the most unique city not only in Italy but the world. Civita Di Bagneregio is the only city in Italy that charges an entrance fee but take it from me: it's well worth it!
This city is perched upon a volcanic rock that gets smaller and smaller every year due to the wind eroding the rock. The city will likely stand for quite a few more years though like it has since 500 B.C.
But don't wait too long before you visit. Just a few years ago a huge piece of it collapsed and took several buildings down with it. If this Italian masterpiece can be saved by science and technology, only time will tell.
Until then I highly recommend anyone who find themselves in Italy, whether it's Rome or Florence take a day out of their busy schedules and visit the world's most unique city.
As long as tourists keep visiting it and revenue pours in, the city will make enough money to try and save it.
