  • Fun Science Play all

These are videos that are FUN presentations, based on science and science experimentation.
You might find that some are serious, which may also feature in the "School Science" playlist, and some are pure fun with just a thin connection with science. The idea is to spread the idea that science IS FUN

    DISCLAIMER:
How many planets in our solar system? A question that had different answers at different points of time. Similarly, though we strive to be as correct as humanly possible, but mistakes can slip through. If you do find any mistakes or discrepancies, do point them out and we will take it up for revision.

  • School Science Play all

We are going to open school textbooks, pick up experiments randomly and then recreate them in a fun way to make exciting videos that will help to understand science better.
Starting with 6th standard, we will complete 10 experiments and then move on to another standard, and over time, we will cover all the classes. Then we will come back to 6th standard and do another 10 and keep repeating the whole process. If there are some videos that you specifically would like to see, post it on our “dartofscience” Youtube page or on our site and we can start a discussion and if possible, even make the video specially FOR YOU.

  • Safe For Kids Play all

At dartofscience you could get to see how to make a small catapult made of ice-cream sticks and rubber bands, or a 30 foot (approximately 10meter) catapult which was used by the warriors of the past. The surprise will be never ending and you will definitely get to see some things that you have not seen anywhere else .

Want to self organise a fun activity or workshop with a science/learning theme? This is the best place.
Here's what you can do (this is for the parent or an adult member of the family).

First things first, i hope you have subscribed to the channel..:) and please make sure you ask others to do so too.

1- A day before, choose the experiments you can handle doing yourself and safely handle the kids (depending on their numbers).

2- Get the ingredients (most of the ingredients are available in regular shops, the difficult ones are listed below)

3- Best is to get extra quantities and try everything a day before so that you know that you will manage it, also you will know how much time gets taken to do these experiments so that you can plan accordingly.

4- Please go through the videos carefully, reading everything thats written, especially any words of caution. Also go though the video of "science behind it" to understand why things are working the way they do

Caution: Always keep a first aid kit in the house as a general rule. This is just a reminder

On the day of the activity
1- Show the kids the video on laptop / tv / projector
2- Let them choose. draw of lots, vote etc make this a fun activity too
3- List down the chosen ones and prepare the ingredients for the first experiment
4- Prepare the area by putting plastic sheets, paper etc to contain any mess
5- First do a demo and ask the more active/older kids to help you do that, keep the reference video on to see if youre doing things correctly
6- Once every one has seen it, then ask them to all start off, but everything should be done step by step. announce first step and let everyone reach the first step. then announce the next step and let everyone reach the same stage..continue till the end
6- Do not hurry anyone, please remember, everyone will not be able to do things equally, some people have a certain strength and others have other strengths, so patience is key.
7- Safety first at all time
8- Clean up before starting the next experiment so that everyone understands the importance of cleaning up after having fun

ODD INGREDIENTS and where to get them from
Epsom salts / Bath salts = Chemist (bigger ones)
Borax = Laundry or a hardware store that keeps paints, civil-work materials etc
