The scene: Winter Olympic Games 2018 in PyeongChang. Monique Lamoureux scored a game-tying goal during the women's hockey final against Canada, forcing it to go into an overtime shootout. Then her sister, Jocelyne Lamoureux, went on to score the game-winning goal, clinching their gold medal victory. But they almost walked away from the possibility of this moment, as they fought for gender equity and equal treatment for women by in the lead up to the game. In the end, the Lamoureux sisters’ fight brought about positive changes like the equitable support the men’s hockey team enjoys, more funding, and training improvements. Comcast is inspired by their achievements, on and off the ice, and could not be more proud to support Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux. As two young role models and leaders who also are fierce advocates for equality, female empowerment and inclusion, and giving back to communities, Jocelyne and Monique are perfectly suited to help us spread the word about our impact on the places where our employees, customers, and partners live and work.
