Considering enrolling in our Online OTA program but aren’t sure what to expect with online learning?
You’re not alone. While online learning has been growing in popularity for years, it can be intimidating for those who’ve only experienced traditional classroom learning. One of the most common concerns potential students have is that they will feel alone in the program or won’t receive the same quality of instruction as students in a classroom-based program.
While understandable, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that the online learning experience we provide delivers the same high-quality, accredited education as our on-campus program. This means developing online coursework that is easy to use and access, and accommodates students’ different learning styles (aural, visual, kinesthetic, etc.). Our online coursework features recorded lectures, interactive activities and quizzes, and online discussion forums. We also pride ourselves on faculty that is available for you, whether by email, online “office hours,” phone or even text.
Additionally, there are many benefits of online coursework. By far, one of the biggest draws of online learning is flexibility. While you’ll still have deadlines, for the most part, when you complete your coursework is up to you.
Our program also gives people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to an OTA program the opportunity to study to become an OTA. That’s because we work with students to find fieldwork in their area, making it feasible to travel to the labs about once a month rather than needing to relocate.
If an occupational therapy assistant (OTA) career is in your future, St. Catherine University’s Online OTA program is worth a closer look. Offering a dynamic blend of online coursework, hands-on learning and real-life fieldwork experiences, our program makes it possible to graduate as an OTA in as few as 16 months.
