High Water Homestead

We are the Lucas family of High Water Homestead! We are a small family busy building our homestead, raising babies, learning old skills, and planning our futures with the hope of living a little slower, simpler, and more sustainable someday soon. I am Shayla, my husband is Austin, and my daughter is Mallory. My husband and I both work outside of our homes and run our own businesses while juggling learning all of these new homesteading skills and managing our animals and food that we are growing organically. We live on roughly 5 acres of mostly wooded, red clay hills in southern West Virginia, growing in Zone 6B, and on a quiet, dead-end road that sometimes literally gets covered in HIGH WATER, trapping us for days. We invite you to come along with us on this beautiful ride!
