To launch the 2018/19 season, Plácido Domingo continues his exploration of the Verdi baritone repertory as Rodrigo in Don Carlo, also starring Ramón Vargas and Ana María Martínez, conducted by James Conlon. The season continues with Satyagraha by Philip Glass, in a visionary production by the director of our recent production of Akhnaten. The fall concludes the holiday favorite Hansel and Gretel, starring Susan Graham as the wicked Witch. In 2019, James Conlon conducts a stunning new production of Mozart's final masterpiece The Clemency of Titus (La Clemenza di Tito) starring Russell Thomas in the title role. In May, Plácido Domingo returns to star as El Gato Montés: The Wildcat, a classic of Spanish lyrical theater that is close to his heart. The mainstage season concludes with Verdi's La Traviata in our acclaimed Art Deco production filled with glamour and romance.
