Capt. Vidyarthi is a Master Mariner with over 50 years experience spanning both ship as well as shore operations, and has spent the major part of his professional career in the recruitment and management of shipboard personnel. Over 30 years ago, he pioneered the recruitment of Indian hotel staff for the international cruise industry. He set up the present organization in 1996 specializing in recruitment for the hospitality industry both in India and abroad (including cruise lines) and in 1998, also set up India's first specialized culinary training institution in advanced continental cuisine.
The Indus Institute of Hospitality & Culinary Arts was established in 1998, and is India's first and only hospitality institute specifically geared towards providing training for potential cruise line employment and can justifiably boast of an almost 100% placement record. The institute started off in Gurgaon as India's first culinary training institute for continental cuisine. It was then shifted to to Whitefield, Bangalore in 2003, and is now located in Chennai since 2010.
