The North River Historical Dancers

Welcome to the North River Historical Dancers' You Tube channel!

Founded in 2008, we are a historic dance troupe that performs and instructs English Country dances from the late 17th through 19th centuries. Many of us are American Revolutionary War re-enactors, and our specialty is music and dances from this period, performed in authentic 18th-century attire.   We have expanded our repertoire to include the early 19th century Regency/Federal and mid 19th century styles of dance. Members of the troupe instruct an adult education class "English-American Historical Social Dancing (17th-19th Century)" at the Somerville School in Ridgewood, NJ on Friday nights from October through May.  This class is available to everyone with all levels of experience.
