Pánfila Domestic Violence HOPE Foundation

Pánfila Domestic Violence HOPE Foundation, founded by Dr. María E. Garay-Serratos, is a nonprofit focused on advancing the science and educating the public about domestic violence and traumatic brain injury (DV-TBI). Pánfila's vision is a world working together to end domestic violence. DV-TBI is a silent, unreported health epidemic of brain injuries caused by blows, throwing objects, shaking, shoving, punching, kicking, and hits that result in head trauma during domestic violence episodes. It is estimated that domestic violence has caused 20 million women in the USA alone – and uncounted numbers of men and children -- to suffer TBI and possibly neurodegenerative diseases.
