東京・六本木にある国立新美術館は、国内最大級の展示スペースを生かした多彩な展覧会の開催や、美術に関する情報や資料の収集・公開・提供、さまざまな教育普及プログラムの実施に取り組んでいます。
芸術を介した相互理解と共生の視点に立った新しい文化の創造に寄与することを使命に、2007年、独立行政法人国立美術館に属する5番目の施設として開館しました。コレクションを持たない代わりに、人々がさまざまな芸術表現を体験し、学び、多様な価値観を認め合うことができるアートセンターとして活動しています。

The National Art Center, Tokyo was founded in 2007 with the mission of contributing to the creation of a new culture that advances mutual understanding and inclusion through the power of art. Since then, the NACT has functioned as an art center without permanent collections that provides the public with a place where they can experience many different forms of artistic expression, make new discoveries, and share diverse values. In addition to hosting a broad spectrum of art shows in one of Japan's largest art exhibition spaces, the NACT also collects, provides, and makes publicly accessible diverse art information/resources and runs various educational and public programs.
