Music video by L.A. Rapper David Mnemonic. This video talks about the grittiness of Los Angeles street gangs and the overwhelming homeless population. Filmed in South Central in some famous historical land marks such as Leimert Park, Crenshaw Blvd, and Nipsey Hussle Square. This video raises consciousness about gang violence in L.A. The County and City of Los Angeles are the “gang capital” of the nation. There are more than 450 active gangs in the City of Los Angeles. Many of these gangs have been in existence for over 50 years.
There is also a high percentage of homelessness in Los Angeles, which is known to have the highest in the country. LA County now has a homeless population of more than 50,000, including the largest unsheltered population of anywhere in the country. In the city of LA, the number of people experiencing homelessness grew 16 percent in a single year to 36,300. According to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, approximately 70,000 to 90,000 persons may be found homeless on any given night in Los Angeles County, more than 44,000 of them on the streets. Youth, from minors through age 24, make up 8,915 of the county's homeless population.
Los Angeles is a destination for most while being a land of survival for others.
