The Bay Foundation (TBF)—aka Santa Monica Bay Restoration Foundation—is a 501(c)3 non-profit environmental group founded to restore & enhance the Santa Monica Bay & local coastal waters. (www.santamonicabay.org) Our science & policy experts are passionate about understanding & protecting the Bay & its watershed, and all the benefits that a healthy ecosystem can provide. Nearly 2 million people live in, and many from around the world visit, the SM Bay Watershed, stretching from Ventura County to Palos Verdes, from the SM Mountains & Griffith Park, to Baldwin Hills and out to the sea. 5,000+ species of animals, fish, birds & plants make their home in the Bay and its Watershed. TBF works with many stakeholders to create and put into action innovative policies & projects that clean our waterways, create green spaces in urban areas, and restore natural habitats both on land and underwater, such as wetlands & kelp forests. TBF is an EPA National Estuary Program.
