Metropolitan Wesley AME Zion Church Washington, DC

Welcome to the Metropolitan Wesley Family. What a wonderful time that we are living in because we serve a God who is doing great things on behalf of Kingdom children. We are excited about building disciples who are being nurtured to change their families, communities and the world. Currently led by the Rev. Dr. Heath Cheek, Metropolitan Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, founded in 1832, served as a station on the famed “Underground Railroad”, is the birthplace of the first Public School for Washington’s African-American children, and is the “Mother Church” of the witness of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in the nation’s capitol.
