The Learning Tree of Alabama

The Learning Tree is a nonprofit that provides services to children, ages 2-21, across Alabama through residential, education, preschool, clinic, and consultation programs. The Learning Tree is widely known for exemplary services for children who engage in severely challenging behavior.

The Learning Tree provides residential schools in Birmingham, Jacksonville, Tallassee, and Mobile serving children, ages 6-21, with developmental disabilities. 

Preschool services are available through inclusive settings at The Little Tree Preschools located in Huntsville and Anniston.

Consultation and Outreach Services began in 2011. Services are coordinated with public school districts in Alabama training teachers on implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles in their classrooms.

In 2018, Growing Independence Behavioral Services (GIBS) clinics were established across Alabama in Birmingham, Anniston, Montgomery, and Mobile.
