Same classroom, same opportunities is about ensuring that every single child, no matter who they are, no matter their circumstances, have a valued place in their local public school. In the same classroom, with the same teacher.

For years, successive governments have ensured that children with disabilities are separated from their peers. Children have been relegated to different schools, different classrooms, and taught by different teachers. Every year, thousands of children who are strong, resilient, and courageous are excluded from the joy of full participation with their peers. We’re sharing stories of resilience, belonging, and success. We’re bringing forward the voices of those children left behind.

We’re creating a NSW school system that can support the learning of every child in every classroom so that they can reach their full potential.

We’re making NSW a place where disability doesn’t mean exclusion and segregation. Every student in NSW should have the opportunity to reach their potential, to learn with their peers, and feel a sense of belonging in their local school. Show less
