Award winner and audience favorite for its first work at APAP 2013, Oui Danse is an acclaimed emerging contemporary dance company created by Brice Mousset.
OUI DANSE takes its name from the French word for yes. It is pronounced /WE DANCE/.
OUI DANSE mission: A challenge for the body, a dare to the imagination, and a reconnection with humanity! In this age of technology, when people have never been so connected, yet so alone, OUI DANSE is an amplifying mirror of society and human behaviors. Brice uses his sensitivity to everyday life and his expertise in human sciences by observing people, their emotions, and their habits. The complexities of man and the distresses of society provide an unlimited source of inspiration which Brice stretches and exaggerates with compassion, irony and criticism.
Brice Mousset selects an intimate group of 10 dancers by video, pic & resume to create a new work with in 20 hours of rehearsals, 1 tech and 2 performances. Brice encourages participants to reach for their best, paying close attention to their growth, and encouraging them to strive for excellence and to develop their artistry. The workshop also focuses on dance ethics and professionalism.
