  • Moderate restoration of an eastern Kilij sword

    2,403 views 2 years ago
This rare eastern Kilij sword was in need of some attention. The blade was stained, scratched and pitted with some folded spots to the edge. The guard was also corroded and was no longer attached to the hilt. We reconditioned the blade and cross guard revealing the fine watered steel and we then we re-attached the guard to the hilt using our traditionally made cement. Such a fine sword like this should not be left unsheathed so we made a reproduction scabbard ensuring the the wooden core would not damage the pattern of the blade and then covered the scabbard with a brown/green leather hide which complimented the Rhino horn handle.
