Founded in 1966, Club 9 is an alternative/underground music venue based in Koersel, Belgium. We organize original activities, progressive concerts, wacky parties and engaging workshops. With the often experimental projects we try to demolish the boundaries of the impossible and engage young people to find their creative selves. Club 9 unites a bar and a music venue into a dynamic meeting place for various subcultures.
At least once a month we organize live performances on our stage. A lot of bands and artists performed in our venue, ranging from Hip Hop artists to Heavy Metal bands. Visit our 'Hall of Fame' on our website: www.club9.be/jeugdhuis-info/muziekarchief
Club 9 is the home of many party concepts. Some examples of parties in the past are 'Bass09' (Drum & Bass / Breakcore / Jungle), 'Technovision' (Techno), 'Boom Boom Room' (Booty / Ghettotech) and 'Overlast' (Hardcore / Tek). And of course 'Beurscafe', where the beer price changes according to the law of supply and demand.
It all started in 1989 with wooden panels on a wooden frame, the projector of the local cinema 'Roxy', much craziness and lots of good will. The film Skin Deep was the first Drive-In Movie event in Belgium. The close collaboration with 'The Roxy Theatre "continues to stand to this day.
We Claim The Streets is a project which is designed to allow our visitors to get in touch with human creativity in various fields such as theater, film, dance, street art, and many other (performing) arts.
DIY Deluxe aims to help the realisation of your DIY projects. If you have a nice project, like for instance building an indoor skatepark or starting up your own give-away shop, our venue is your place to set up your project.
