    Hi, I'm Debbie, the founder of Ask Debbie About Hair and The Changing Faces Hair Clinic in Atlanta.
    Today, I want to show you how you can use rice water to grow your hair long, thick and strong. So, let me tell you a little bit about rice water. Rice water is that hidden secret, and when I tell you it's amazing, I'm here to tell you I love it and every client that I've used it on absolutely loves it.
    Rice water contains so many vitamins, so many nutrients, it's like giving your hair hair-food immediately. It's better than a hair vitamin because when you take a hair vitamin, you have to absorb it in your body and it takes maybe weeks or months before you see results but when you use rice water, you're going to see results the very first time you use it.
    Rice water contains selenium, magnesium, folic acid, thiamine, niacin, B1 – B6, vitamin B, vitamin K and the list goes on and on. Now, every nutrient that I’ve just mentioned to you is actually what you would find in a really good hair vitamin.
    So, again, why buy a hair vitamin when you can actually make this ingredient and have it in liquid form and it would actually benefit your hair immediately?
    In China, the Yao women, and that's spelt Y-A-O, and you can google that, this is what they use to rinse their hair with.
    These women use rice water to grow their hair long and when I say long, look at this picture here, this picture is what they do on a daily basis. And so, I tried it, I tried it on a few of my clients and I kind of didn't tell them and then when I saw them the following week, I remember one of them saying to me she says “Debbie, I don't know what you put on my hair last week but I'm gonna need you to do it again”. Take a look at this picture here, this picture is of a client of mine and you see how her hair was so damaged and short. Now, look at the after picture, that is literally after me continuously using the rice water on her hair. Amazing. And I was actually using it on myself and I always use my family or my sister for my guinea pigs and everybody's hair was just beautiful and so that's when I said you know what, I have to share this with everyone. And even myself, I keep my hair cut short, but I am having to cut my hair every week or every two weeks because the hair keeps growing and I like a pixie cut short, so now I got some length and I'm loving it.
    So, I'm going to show you how you can make this rice water to get your hair healthy, your hair long and your hair strong. So, come with me. Okay. So, basically you can use any form of rice; you can use white rice, you can use brown rice, you can use jasmine rice, it really doesn't matter but my preference is organic rice and you do want to use distilled water. So, all you're gonna do is one cup of rice and one cup of water and basically, I've already put it together, this is one cup of rice in one cup of water and you let it sit, it has to sit and ferment. I normally let it sit for about 24 hours but you can actually let it sit for minimum up 12 hours, some people have done it for 3 hours but the longer the rice ferments in the water, the better and the stronger the benefits are going to be for your hair. So, once you let it ferment, you'll see that the water will start to get cloudy, that’s all the nutrients coming together. And after you let it sit from 12 to 24 hours, the next thing you're going to do is you get a strainer or something similar and you're just gonna pour all the water into the strainer, okay, you can even let the rice go in there too because you're not going to use the rice; this is the secret ingredient.
    Rinse your hair with this but let me tell you how you do it; you shampoo your hair and always use a sulphate-free shampoo, then after you shampoo you're going to condition your hair and after you rinse out your conditioner, you're going to pour this rice water rinse on your hair. Leave it on your hair from anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, I leave it on my clients’ hair for about an hour and I put a cap on their hair. And once you rinse this off, you can go back to your styling. I promise you, the first time you use this, you're gonna see a difference in your hair, it's gonna be amazing. And when I tell you it’s a secret weapon, all you see here is the nutrients, the vitamins, all of the things; like I said, there's selenium and selenium promotes hair growth, selenium reduces dandruff; folic acid helps thicken hair and strengthen the hair and folic acid actually is that vitamin that's in the prenatal vitamins and we all know what prenatal vitamins are good for; it contains magnesium and magnesium stimulates hair growth and every single cell in our body needs magnesium to function well; it also contains niacin which has vitamin B3 in it and niacin transforms dull weak hair.
