Congratulations to Grade 9 Spectrum Community School student Helena Perez de Tagle for her winning Show Me ShakeOut entry describing the importance of earthquake preparedness and "Drop, Cover, Hold On." Great work!
At 10:20 a.m. October 20, thousands of British Columbians will "Drop, Dover and Hold On" during the largest annual earthquake drill in Canada. To help spread the word, BC high school students were challenged to create fun and educational videos about earthquake preparedness. Here are the winners from 2015 and 2016.
There's more to "Drop, Cover, Hold On" than getting under a table. Help us promote proper technique for #ShakeOutBC 2015 by sharing videos demonstrating correct form. That means you're under a sturdy piece of furniture, with one hand holding on and one hand protecting your head and neck.
Tweet the video to @ShakeOutBC using the #howdoyoushakeout hashtag and we'll add your clip to our playlist!
