On Veterans Day 2013, someone broke into the Naugatuck Historical Society Museum in Naugatuck, CT and stole a model wooden schooner. Despite a $1,000 reward from ION Bank, it is still missing.
Ken Kraushaar, a 94 year old Navy veteran and model ship builder volunteered to make a new model.
The ship is a model of a "flea fleet" boat the Peter Paul Company used in the Caribbean during WWII for coconut supplies. They also reported German U-boat positions to the U.S. Navy.
