TEFO Conference 2015 will be held from 01 – 03 May 2015, at Youth Square, Hong Kong. The Conference welcomes academics, practitioners, researchers, policy-makers from Asia and beyond to exchange ideas and share practices in the field of drama and theatre education.
In the past few decades, we have witnessed development of border-crossing drama education praxis in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. Drama praxis as such range from cross-regional academic programme partnership to cross-disciplinary drama/theatre practices and researches. This emerging crossing-over of people, projects and ideas not only hybridizes the once simple, linear East/West or Global/Local travel, but also brings home the specific Asian contexts, traditions and cultural needs in the field of drama/theatre education.
Today, processes of global competition and conflicts – in the forms of city branding, armed conflicts, ethnic and religious conflicts – press on social life. We ask what drama and theatre can possibly do to intervene critically into those global yet local social and cultural processes. This is particularly a meaningful and important question for drama/theatre practitioners and scholars in Asian contexts while we are engaging in emerging topics and issues such as corporate learning and development, participant research study and cultural policy planning.
In this conjuncture, we cordially invite you to join in the dialogue that aims to map and move the field of drama/theatre education forward in the attempt to reinvent and reimagine social relationships in Asia and beyond. http://www.tefoconference.o...
