Legends of the Barbed Wire Hotel, Diana Halstead

She Was Told to Never Ask About the War. Until Now.

Diana Maul Halstead was raised never to ask her father about the war. And she did not. Until a forgotten diary changed everything.

Her father, Henry Eugene Maul, was a WWII prisoner of war who wrote from behind barbed wire. His words, hidden for decades, became the beginning of a mission.

What began as preserving one man’s memoir grew into uncovering many untold stories of courage, sacrifice, and survival. Through Legends of the Barbed Wire Hotel, Diana brings forward the voices history nearly lost.

Every veteran’s story deserves to be heard and honored.

Silence should never be the end of their story.

Watch. Listen. Remember.
