About the William Morris Society

The William Morris Society is a membership-based charitable incorporated organisation which aims to perpetuate the memory of the life, work and ideas of William Morris (1834-1896). We aim to promote understanding of all aspects of his life and works from his arts and crafts, literature, design and political engagement to his environmental/conservation interests and printing/book production as well as his relevance to a 21st century audience. We also run a small museum in the basement and Coach House of Kelmscott House, Hammersmith (Morris’s London home for the last eighteen years of his life).
