Recently, In... is a series of videos that take a much more laid back, but familiar approach to games than my Quids In reviews. In this series, I'd like to share ideas, experiences and whatever might come to mind in games that I've been paying attention to recently.
Quids In! is a show that I intend to do whenever I feel like a game I've been playing is any good. The whole point is to show you a whole bunch of games that have caught my attention and that I've really enjoyed. It's not a proper review as such, it's more like something I need to share with people, even if the title is already well-known.
Death means so little in video games these days, since you can just reload from a checkpoint or a quicksave. I love that it's such a casual thing to just kill yourself in a game instead of trying to work around a problem and I often enjoy being able to reset from a checkpoint so easily.
However, the time has come to put some meaning back in to death, by connecting it to a series - I get one life, or one set of lives depending on the game format - and if I lose 'em, that character is dead forever, along with the series for that game.
