Barley Hospital Radio is a three-part situation comedy about a small radio station that has a mysterious power. Steve Starkey has been working at Barley Hospital Radio for 12 years. The arrival of a new guy threatens his position as the patients’ favourite DJ, tests his relationship with his best friend and reveals the uncanny power of the radio station.
The series was produced as a UCLU Film Society Affiliated Project in the 2013/14 academic year. The three episodes were filmed in the UCL Film Studio in Bloomsbury over two weekends in March 2014 after a month of pre-production, and the crew comprised of mostly first-year students and first time filmmakers. The series premiered at Digifest in November 2014.
