The International Dairy Federation (IDF) is the global organization dedicated to advancing dairy knowledge and promoting safe, sustainable, and nutritious dairy worldwide. Founded in 1903 and headquartered in Brussels, IDF works through national committees in 40 countries, representing two-thirds of global dairy production and the entire dairy value chain. By developing science-based standards, providing technical input to international bodies such as FAO, WHO, Codex Alimentarius, and ISO, and fostering global consensus, IDF ensures that milk and dairy products remain essential to healthy diets and food security. Guided by its vision—“To nourish the world by advancing dairy knowledge”—IDF addresses global challenges like malnutrition, climate change, and sustainability through collaboration and scientific expertise.
