Discovered while performing on the streets of Inokashira Park in Tokyo, she was scouted by Teichiku Records and made her major debut on April 23, 2003, with the single "Kami Fusen" (Paper Balloon). She became widely known as the "Diva of the Park" and "Yu Aku's Last Protégée."

She has received numerous accolades, including the "Japan Composer's Association Award for Encouragement" at the Japan Record Awards and the "Cable Music Award" at the Japan Cable Awards. Her singing style, which evokes the nostalgia of Showa-era popular music, has garnered solid support, particularly among the baby boomer generation.

In 2018, she relocated her base to Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. Currently, she continues to perform nationwide, focusing on live performances and concerts, while raising her children.
