X-Net Interdisciplinary Research Network

X-Net is a network that aims to contribute to catalyse the change required in UK to nurture interdisciplinarity, targeting the interface between computational and mathematical sciences, and biomedical research. It is an initiative funded by MRC and managed and supported by the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Oxford, with a duration of two years from 2022 to 2024. In order to create the adequate conditions for interdisciplinary research to thrive, X-Net aims getting involved with industry and PPI (patient and public involvement). X-Net’s main objectives are:

•	The establishment of a network of interdisciplinary researchers at different career stages (STEM/biomedicine) in UK.
•	The creation of an evidence gathered documents, including a strategic roadmap, to present to policy makers and funding bodies to improve the working environment of interdisciplinary researchers, focussing on early career researchers.
