Tommy Freed and the Sound

Tommy Freed is a songwriter and producer currently based in Los Angeles, California. From the abrasive sounds of his youth to the more resonant sounds of young adulthood, Tommy Freed’s expanding catalogue is an attempt at “violent optimism.” How can we tell a story that’s honest enough to reflect the harsh glare of the adult world, without being so honest that we forget it is one of pure invention? 

Originally a film major, he dropped out of college and opted instead to learn the art of storytelling the only way he knew how: by putting it off for seven years, keeping the company of questionable characters, and waiting to see if a certain Buskowskian necessity might kick in. It did. So, with a steady stream of music coming down the line, and his first screenplay in the works, Tommy continues to lean more and more into the visual arts, with the hopes that this particular skillset can culminate in a near endless stream of light and sound.
