The WITH Project

This project was developed by Dr Sharyn Byrne (Senior Clinical Psychologist in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Castlebar.  Funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, it was completed in collaboration with Mindspace Mayo and members of youth groups.  Up to 20% of children and young people experience parental Mental Health distress, but there are very few resources for children and young people in Ireland who are affected by this. Information helps! It can reduce the vulnerability of young people living with parental Mental Health distress, and information has been proven to increase their resilience! Our resource describes some of the Mental Health difficulties parents can develop, as well as information on how young people can mind themselves and seek support if they need it.
