It was kind of last minute...It colides with my plan of National Champs, but after I thought pros and cons...there is nothing to think about - Let's go to CHINA!
Thanks to my appereance on a few exotic races thru Asia recently I was offered to compete in Chinese international race. What a rider and traveller I would be if I say NO?
A week later I sit in the plane to Beijing and thinking what is going to come in next days.
China is kind of specific country. A bit closed from the outer world. Internet and few other things are limited, but there is so much China can deliver. Huge size of the country means huge opportunity to travel, to see different nature and experience huge amount of "different life".
The race took place in one of the really breathtaking places right on the border of Tibet. The track was about 2500m high in the mountains of Tibetan plateau and when you stop during the training and just pointed your view anywhere, you just had to think about the only word: "wow".
About 50 local riders competed at the race plus about 15 international riders from all over the world.
I personally enjoyed great few days with great people around. I managed to finish on 2nd place in DH (0.2s behind the winner) and 1st in 2X(dual), which was kind of great really.
It was amazing experience at all. Just a pity I coudn't come a bit earlier and explore the area a bit more. People are living a bit different there and I'd like to get deeper into it. Plateau with huge mountains right behind the huge city and infinite mountains views and farmers in between.
Thanks to Francois Pedemenaut for drone footage!
What is comming next? Wait for next episode!
