Urca de Lima

We are a nine-member musical ensemble from Thessaloniki, formed in 2021 by students of the Contemporary Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Our sound blends Latin American music, jazz, cumbia, trip-hop, and ambient influences into a distinctive fusion. Inspired by 18th-century maritime myths, we create music that bridges Caribbean rhythms, North American jazz improvisation, and modern European electronic aesthetics. Our work is characterized by strong narrative elements and conceptual storytelling. In August 2022 we released our first EP, “Azule Tapes”. In December 2024 we released our first full-length album, “Steam City”, a steampunk-inspired concept album about revolutionary cats and oppressive aristocrats, exploring themes of social struggle and resistance. We have performed in numerous venues and festivals across Greece.
