The Rambling Irishman in Thailand

Welcome to The Rambling Irishman in Thailand.

I’m Steve. I retired early, travelled around Europe with Molly and Buster, lived in Spain for several years, and now at 63 I’m starting again — leaving Spain and moving to Jomtien, Thailand.

This channel follows that life as it actually happens: preparing for the move, settling in, bureaucracy, visas, banking, costs, housing, healthcare, scooters, friendships, everyday life, mistakes, surprises and whatever comes next.

This isn’t a how-to channel and I’m not pretending to be a Thailand expert. I’ll simply share what I’m doing, what I learn, what goes wrong, what surprises me and what life in Thailand really feels like once it stops being somewhere I visit and becomes home.

Retirement, money, getting older, happiness and making the most of life will still be part of the story — because they’re part of my life.

Come along for the ride.
Onward and upward.
