The Creative Advantage

The Creative Advantage is a city-wide initiative to establish equitable access to arts education for each and every student in Seattle Public Schools.

Creative Advantage Online Arts (CAOA) is a swift pivot in response to COVID-19 to support students and families during school closures, as well as teaching artists who were contracted to lead school day residencies. CAOA represents a vast array of arts learning videos for arts students of all ages. 

We invited Teaching Artists—many who are missing their students—to create videos sharing what they are passionate about. They offer up their diverse teaching styles and perspectives in a range of artistic disciplines and content areas: lessons that focus on a variety of arts skills and techniques as well as ways to practice 21st Century Skills (Collaboration, Communication, Creative + Critical Thinking, Growth Mindset + Perseverance) in art-making.
