Starting on the June 3rd I will be thru hiking the Appalachian Trail in 100 days!
Follow my journey here as I vlog daily about the challenge.
I am recording on a Go Pro Hero 5 .
Flynn Jones is the editor - please check out his channel as well!
On the 10th September I completed my challenge and reached the summit of Mount Katahdin at around 2pm!
The vlogs are still going to be coming out over the coming days and weeks. Myself and Flynn would have loved to have been able to vlog in "real time" but for the last few weeks of the trail, I was not able to find good wifi and I wasn't staying in places long enough to be able to upload the footage. I don't think either Flynn or myself realised how hard it would be to vlog and edit!!
Please let me say now how sorry I am for when I don't end the vlogs - this is all ME and Flynn can only do so much with the footage I send him. Ditto for when I'm speaking quietly - I sorry sometimes you can't hear me!!!
Thank you again for watching - I hope this inspires you to go after your own personal challenge.
After completing my thru hike of the Appalachian Trail (2,190 miles in 100 days!) Jo Jo - Awesome member of the tough girl tribe, drove me to Boston where I got to catch up with my mum (Christine) and my sister Caroline! We had a fab few days in Boston. I was so use to vlogging at this point, that I decided to continue so you could see what I got up to after a thru hike!! Enjoy!!
The Marathon des Sables is a multi stage ultra endurance race held in Morocco in April every year. The event has been called the toughest footrace on earth! It involves carrying everything you need on your back while you run 6 marathons in 6 days across the Sahara.
This is an event that will test you both mentally & physically. One of the key things is preparation. Learn more about my preparation and how my race went by watching the videos below!
The Tough Girl Podcast is all about motivating and inspiring you! I interview inspirational women from around the world who have undertaken great challenges. I ask them the important questions; why they decided to do it, what they learned, how they did it, what their top tips and advice is.
These women are from all walks of life, from all background with a whole variety of different experiences. I've interviewed olympic athletes as well as grandmothers who are endurance runners. I've interviewed some of all ages who have rowed across oceans, swam the channel and climbed the highest mountain in the world.
You will be inspired by these women! Get listening now!
You can listen to the Tough Girl Podcast on the go via iTunes, Soundcloud & Stitcher!
Although my interviews are very informal and relaxed they do take me a long time to edit. At the moment I don’t have the capacity to edit two full podcast episodes a week. So instead, as a compromise I thought I’d upload a raw, unedited conversation of what my previous guests have been up to since we last spoke.
So in essence…..Tough Girl Extra is an extra podcast episode that will be happening on an adhoc basic, it’s going to be released on a Thursday #ToughGirlThursday at 7am UK time.
This is a new style for me and I would love to get your feedback. Please do let me know what you think. You can either comment below, send me an e-mail (email@example.com) or send me a DM on twitter @_TOUGH_GIRL.
After working in finance for 8 years, I quit my city job and spent 18 months travelling the world, climbing Kilimanjaro, backpacking around South America and doing a ski season. I used this time to help me decide on what I wanted to do with my life. I set up Tough Girl Challenges as a way of motivating and inspiring women and girls.
I'm the host the Tough Girl Podcast where I interview inspirational female explorers, adventurers, athletes and everyday women who have overcome great challenges.
I completed the Marathon des Sables in April 2016 and in 2017 I will be thru hiking the Appalachian Trail (2,190 miles) in 100 days!
This is my daily update of what I get up to! I want to share the journey, the high points the low points and what it takes to build a business while having fun and going on adventures!
