1:03:10 - 1:04:34 Boss taking down colored signs

    An excerpt from the sermon:

Internalizing this truth: You’ve been made an insider(!). This is especially important for those who live as actual outsiders in our society. I'm talking about:

    - Black folks in a white dominant society
    - People who are not gender conforming
    - Immigrants who are undocumented
    - Muslim women who wear hijabs
    - People whose first language isn’t English
    - Individuals who are on the autism spectrum

Seal this truth on your hearts and your minds: though society and some churches try to label you and treat you as an outsider, that could not be further from the truth! You are on the inside, fully welcomed, fully loved, as you are. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Maybe some of you have been told your whole life that you’re an outsider.
    - Maybe you've been labeled the black sheep in your family
    - No matter what you do or hard how you try, your in-laws just won't accept you
    - Maybe you're working your tail off at your job and yet everyone is passing you up and no one vouches for you
    - Or maybe you’ve labeled yourself as an outsider because of something you've done or because of something that's been done to you and you feel unworthy

Maybe today is your opportunity to sit with Jesus and allow him to wash you in his truth - Today, Jesus says to you “You’ve been a beloved child of a loving parent the whole time; there is nothing you’ve done or that has been done to you can keep you from being welcomed home; no matter how society sees you and no matter what label’s been placed on you, none of that can keep you from being an insider. I have always considered you an insider and my child. I love you and celebrate you and see the full you. Welcome home, sweet child of mine. Welcome home.”

Let that truth saturate your being that you might see yourself as Christ sees you. You’ve been made an insider: no one and nothing can change that fact. Show less
