From her first appearance on the silver screen in 1930, Betty Boop captured our hearts and tickled our imagination! Created by Max Fleischer and the very talented artists at Fleischer Studios, to this day Ms. Boop remains an iconic star in the world of animation.
There are over 100 Fleischer Studios cartoons featuring Betty Boop. Most are part of the Betty Boop Cartoon series, but the earliest ones are part of the Talkartoons series. We are delighted to share with you those cartoons that are in the Public Domain.
The Out of the Inkwell series consists of some of the very earliest cartoons by Max and Dave Fleischer. They nearly all feature a clown who, in 1923, became known as KoKo the Clown. Before that, he was simply known as "The Clown." The films are all silent, with dialogue cards to move the plot along.
These early animated films demonstrate an amazing display or surrealism, imagination and, above all, humor. Enjoy!
