FLIP and Happy with Melissa Rances

I’m an ex-hotel employee, current project manager, lupus warrior and full-time PASSIONATE Foodie! I’m making food “FLIP and Happy” as I flip traditional, not so healthy recipes to provide clean and happily satisfying alternatives starting with the Filipino meals I grew up with.

There’s this MISCONCEPTION that Filipino food CANNOT be made healthy, but I’m here to BUST THAT MYTH! I’ll be showing you what traditional ingredients we can swap out for more nutritious ones, while still remaining authentic to our Filipino roots!

I want to invite EVERYONE to my clean-eating Filipino-American table. Sharing a meal together connects people to one another. A shared meal creates a sense of belonging. I live by the saying, “The way to a person’s heart is through their stomach.” What better way to foster this sense of shared identity — kapwa — than through inviting others into your world of flavors while making it healthy and nutritious too! Kain na tayo! (Let’s eat together!)
