DESIGN KYOTO / DESIGN WEEK KYOTO

DESIGN KYOTO is the community of various creative people related to local industries like crafts, manufacturing, design, farming, research and so on.
We hold "OPEN SITE" events where various manufacturing sites in Kyoto Pref. open their doors to promote exchanges, as well as learning opportunities for friendly competition with each other.
For one week at the end of August every year,  we hold the conference event "DESIGN WEEK KYOTO" to consider "Evolving 'MADE IN KYOTO' " based on tours, workshops and dialogues in various places in the prefecture. People involved in manufacturing in Japan and abroad gather in Kyoto and discuss during the week.
DESIGN KYOTOは「京都の文化を『MADE IN KYOTO』の担い手たちが進化させる」をビジョンとして、工芸、製造、デザイン、農業、研究など多様な担い手が交流をベースに活動するコミュニティです。
年間を通じて、京都府内の様々なモノづくりの現場がオープンして交流を促進する「オープンサイト」イベントや互いに切磋琢磨し合う学びの場を実施しています。
また、毎年8月末の一週間、国内外のモノづくりの関係者が京都に集い、府内の各地を巡るツアーやワークショップ、そして対話を軸として「Evolving ”MADE IN KYOTO”」を考えるカンファレンスイベント「DESIGN WEEK KYOTO」を開催しています。
