The Center for Black Educator Development

The Center for Black Educator Development (CBED) works to make transformative, liberating education a common expectation. We are strategically researching, designing, testing, and deploying innovations in: 1) Pathways to teaching so Black students want to and can prepare for a career in education; 2) Professional learning to help all educators master the type of teaching that breaks cycles of social oppression; 3) Public policy changes that support educational equity; and 4) Culturally-informed pedagogy through curriculum, materials and instruction sourced in multicultural perspectives on student learning, classroom practices, and school leadership, community and culture.
