In 2015, Blue Ventures won the prestigious Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. As part of that award, filmmaker Gabriel Diamond captured a short film which explored the mission and approaches Blue Ventures takes to rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities. Now we present an updated version of that film, which reflects the change, growth and success Blue Ventures has had over the last 15 years.

Our Blue Forests programme aims to conserve mangrove and seagrass habitats using a range of innovative management approaches and financing mechanisms. It will ensure that blue carbon habitats continue to play their critical role in locking up carbon dioxide, as well as providing a range of vital ecosystem services to coastal communities. In the long term it will contribute to poverty alleviation and help coastal communities adapt to climate change.
