For my 200th video I'm giving you a quick rundown of what I do, why I do it, the details of this channel, it's history, and why you should watch it.

    History of this channel:

2011 - For 2 months we traveled in South America along the Pan-Am highway from Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile and then over to Buenos Aires. This was our first video series. It's very well edited, but the camera used was not good and I was a little lost when shooting it. That being said, I think it's probably the funniest series we ever did. Check it out here:

2012 - We backpacked Southeast Asia for 4 and a half months, going to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. I brought along a Canon 60D - a digital SLR camera - which had a bit of a learning curve, but produced beautiful high quality shots. Instead of just shooting everything, I started thinking more about what each video would be about.

2014 to 2016 - After some schooling and money-saving, we officially moved to Vietnam. Sara got a job teaching Science, and I started doing some web design and putting some actual work into the website, including more videos! In our 2 years of living in Vietnam, we traveled all around the country and also visited other parts of Southeast Asia including Myanmar.
    Vietnam videos:

Summer of 2016 - For an entire 28 days we traveled through India. It wasn't our longest trip, but it is my longest series. I shot a video every single day, 28 days straight! Anyone that's every shot and edited a 5 minute video will tell you that's crazy. In the end, I really love this series. It definitely wasn't my favorite vacation, but I learned so much about filmmaking and storytelling and I think the series is a lot of fun to watch. Check it out here:

2016 to Present - Sara and I are currently living in China. We decided a country this big with over a billion people, had to be experienced for more than a backpacking journey. We are living in Chengdu, a perfect city for food-lovers and people who like to escape to nature every once in a while.

While in China, I discovered that it's possible to make a living on YouTube. I'm not saying that I accomplished that, but I have made a decision to take a stab at it. I started posting 2 videos per week. Most of my time goes into running this channel, shooting, editing, writing, and promoting.

I post new videos on Tuesdays and Thursdays at around 3PM EST.

I'm currently working on a series of 54 videos called Chengdu: City of Gastronomy. In it, I am eating my way through a deck of cards. I bought a deck of food themed playing cards that feature a different Sichuan dish on every card. Every week, I'll shuffle the deck and pick one random card to hunt down and sample.

  • Chengdu: City of Gastronomy Play all

I'm taking on Asia's first UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Chengdu is my home, and lucky for me - it's a food heaven! Sichuan food is known worldwide. I love it, but with so many dishes out there, it's hard for me to know where to start. Luckily, I found a deck of playing cards that feature a different dish on every card. In this series, every week I'll shuffle the deck up and draw a card. Whatever dish I get, I'll head into the city to hunt down and try. There's some weird looking stuff in there, but my mouth and I are open to new tastes. Tune in every Thursday at around 3PM EST to watch the latest video, and be sure to subscribe.

  • Vietnam! Living and Traveling it for 2 years. Play all

I love Vietnam. I lived there for two years, and I still go back from time to time. These videos will show you a side of Vietnam that you didn't know existed. They will make you want to travel there, meet their people, and eat their food. I've been all over the country and I can honestly say it's one of my favorite places in the world.
If you are planning to head to Vietnam, check out my budget travel guide:
Or, if you want to learn more about the food my food guide has photos and descriptions of over 75 dishes:

  • This is China Play all

When I first moved to China, I was blown away. Despite Han Chinese making up about 19% of the world's population, I found that I didn't really know anything about the people and their country.

These videos are a documentation of my discovery. You'll find videos from around Chengdu (the city I live), and from plenty of other places around China.

Don't believe what you see in the movies - This is China.

  • The India Chronicles - 28 Days/28 Videos Play all

This is my 28-day trip through India. I decided to do a video per day documenting the adventure. Some of the videos will be informative. Some will showcase a city or a tourist attraction. Some will likely be about getting diarrhea (that happens a lot in India). Watch the ones you want, or binge watch them all while you sit in the bath eating a sandwich. If not all 28 are there, that means I haven't completed the trip yet. Be sure to tune in tomorrow to see what happens next. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

  • Tibet in China - Experiencing Tibet in West Sichuan Play all

Visiting the Tibetan Autonomous Region is a pain. As a westerner, you need a guide and a special permit. My dislike of organized tours led me to Western Sichuan, where you can experience Tibet independently, without any special paperwork. This series shows you what it's like and gives you some information on the people, their culture, and the towns. If you want to take this trip yourself, please visit my website and have a look at the detailed guide: An Alternate Way to Experience Tibet -

  • Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan - This is Western China! Play all

For almost a month, we traveled Qinghai and Gansu province in western China. The Chinese will call it exotic China. It's the home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. The mountains change from a dusty brown sandstone to a beautiful green. The yellow river, the 2nd longest river in Asia, cuts between the provinces. It's early waters have a beautiful green hue. China's beauty is on game here, and the culture is one of the most diverse with Chinese Muslims, Tibetans, and other ethnic minorities.

  • The Best of Taipei, Taiwan... And Maybe the World. Play all

Taipei, Taiwan is an amazing place for food. It may be the best food city in the world. We spent a lot of our time at the night markets, sampling the various snacks. The street food is cheap and varies from Asian dishes to western dishes with a Taiwanese twist. The Taiwanese twist... that sounds like a dance. I guess that could be the name of the happy dance that comes out of me when I'm eating Taipei's delicious food.
