April Kirby shot this video of me and my honey recording "River Of Joy" for my new acoustic album "House Sessions, Vol. 1." Released on February 28 2019, this song is a remake of the 2006 version, which I wrote with my dear friend and co-writer Lynn Langham from Nashville. It was written about the pains of chasing a dream, but as I've gotten older I've realized this song is just about life. We have to find joy in the process of going upstream, because often times that's what the journey requires. I love that this message rings as true for me today as the day we wrote it...that's how you know it's the truth.
Thanks to Grant Wilbon for the brilliant engineering work and to Ryan Tharp, for always playing the perfect amount of slide guitar.
