Zen of Screaming | Melissa Cross

It doesn't have to feel angry to sound angry.

I'm Melissa Cross. I teach singers, screamers and anyone who uses their voice for a living how to get the sound they want without hurting themselves.

I named fry screaming in 2004, and in 2005 I released The Zen of Screaming, where I gave names to the scream mechanisms I was hearing from my students. I never meant them as a menu to choose from. The intention was always to learn all of the functions, so you have the full range of dynamics when you perform.

On this channel: conversations and sessions with vocalists I've worked with, from Underoath, Bad Omens, Disturbed, Silent Planet and more.
